West Bergen is a section of Jersey City located within the West Side. One of the most notable aspect of West Bergen is the architecture. The Bergen Hill Historic District is home to many brownstone styles homes that, considering recent developments, feels like a time-capsule of sorts. One of the new developments at West Bergen, The Beacon, provides residents with 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments, in 6 different art deco style buildings. The region can be seen as a college town of sorts. Saint Peters University, a private school located at the border of the region, has been home to many successful graduates, such as New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez and State Representative Albio Sires.
New Jersey State University can also be found here as well, a school home to about 7,000 students and growing. In terms of transportation, most of West Bergen is accessible via NJ Transit buses in the area as well the the NJ Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, which has multiple stations in the area.
